Bacówka nad Wierchomla is a mountain PTTK shelter located in the Jaworzyna Range at an altitude of 887 m above sea level. It is one of the most atmospheric shelters in the Beskid Sądecki, where a lot is going on. And most importantly, from the clearing under the shelter there are wonderful views of the Tatra Mountains and the Radziejowa range. You can eat well here too. The hostel is situated on the Barani Route and serves traditional shepherd's dishes - cheese and lamb.

At first glance, Bacówka may not resemble a classic mountain shelter, all because the building in which it is located was once a granary. He was transferred here from Złocki (the village is about 10 km away). It is a wooden building with a large hall with a fireplace and a veranda from which, in good weather, there are beautiful views. On the first floor there are 2 and 4-person rooms. Bacówka can accommodate 40 people. You can also stay overnight in a nearby Finnish house (max. 12 people), your own tent, and in the absence of places on the ground. Recently, the Yurta Spa has been operating in the clearing under the hut in the summer season. You can spend the night there in a real yurt. In addition, in the yurts you can take advantage of spa treatments, development workshops and yoga classes.

The hostel is an excellent starting point for hiking in the Jaworzyna Range, cycling trips, as well as for cross-country and downhill skiing. In winter, dog sled rides are also organized in the shelter!

The fastest way to the shelter is the black trail from Wierchomla Wielka (approx. 4 km and 373 m elevation), a gentle and pleasant trail leads from Szczawnik along a paved road along the blue bicycle trail. In addition, you can get there along the blue or yellow trail from Żegiestów-Zdrój, and the blue trail from Krynica Zdrój. The Main Beskid Trail runs near the hostel, to reach Wierchomla from it, you need to descend from Runek to the blue trail towards the west.
