St. John Paul II has a religious and tourist character. The entire complex includes the temple, the area around the church, a developed embankment and a large square on Równia. Everything has been inscribed in the mountains of the Nadpopradzkiego Beskid (of which Piwniczna-Zdrój is the heart) and the gorge of the Poprad River. There are, among others statue of St. John Paul II - a pensive wanderer, seven chapels, a grotto.
