Establishing the Podhale Center for International Dialogue aimed at preserving the historical and cultural heritage by restoring the historic synagogue and giving it new functions. The center will be equipped with innovative multimedia tools and permanent exhibitions, it will organize series of cultural events and conferences. The task will be developed with the support of the Dariusz Popiela Center Foundation, the Jewish Community, the From the Depths Foundation of Johnny Daniels, the Galicia Jewish Museum and the Chief Rabbi of Poland. The project is planned in the design-build formula. The center is to accommodate up to 60 people for educational purposes. On the other hand, about 150 people during the organization of cultural events. The center will perform educational functions based on modern multimedia tools and permanent exhibitions.
The project is a response to diagnosed social problems and the lack of activities commemorating the local historical heritage, i.e. the fate of the Jewish community of Podhale. The implementation of the planned activities will directly translate into saving the historic building, giving it new functions, engaging and activating the local community and providing opportunities for future generations for further development.
The Czarny Dunajec commune held talks with the Jewish commune in order to transfer the legal title to the property for a minimum period of 20 years, which allows the commune to act as an investor and apply for external sources of investment financing. Currently, a functional and utility program is being developed along with a concept that will allow for the preparation of appropriate documentation, such as a construction design.
The project serves all residents of the Czarny Dunajec commune mainly as a place of remembrance and social education covering all generations. A number of architectural solutions and the use of multimedia techniques that are aimed at eliminating barriers for people with disabilities make the project, thanks to its impact, open to everyone. 1000 people visiting the Podhale Center for International Dialogue per year. In the area of the commune of 15 villages there is a problem of the lack of educational and tourist infrastructure devoted to the historical heritage of this area. The synagogue in question is one of the best-preserved objects of Jewish culture in Małopolska, which has an immeasurable impact on the assumed goals of the project and the target audience.

The implementation of the project will contribute to the increase of the attractiveness of the region, not only for tourists from Poland, but also for foreign tourists.
