The project provides for the expansion, construction and modernization of public and commercial sports and recreation facilities, in particular the existing ski lifts to Palenica and the Arena Jaworki - Homole lift. Preferred construction of a swimming pool / swimming pool open to tourists, patients and residents. Construction of a municipal changing room with a hall designated for the competition office and public toilets for skiers.

Possibility of practicing sports, including winter sports, in the Szczawnica-Zdrój commune, including the use of extended and modernized ski lifts. Moreover, the development of the winter tourist offer is planned.

The necessity to develop winter tourism has been identified. The Szczawnica-Zdrój commune has all the conditions to develop tourism in this sector. There is no public swimming pool / swimming pool in the commune, unfortunately it has a negative impact on the development of tourism. Many tourists choose places with a wide offer, unfortunately Szczawnica does not have a swimming pool, so some tourists choose other places, except Szczawnica. Swimming pools are available in some hotels, while tourists choosing accommodation in private accommodation or holiday cottages would like to go to the public swimming pool.

The impact of the project implementation on the development of spa tourism in the commune

The development of winter tourism would complement the tourist offer offered by the commune. It should be emphasized that the commune has adequate accommodation and catering facilities. There is a rich accommodation base in Szczawnica, with a wide range of availability and a variety of accommodation, from exclusive hotels to guest rooms in private accommodation. As a result, the implementation of the project involving the modernization, construction and expansion of sports facilities, including winter sports infrastructure, would provide tourists with all the conditions necessary for active recreation. The implementation of the project in the Szczawnica-Zdrój commune is another step towards the development of winter tourism. Thanks to the results of the project, the improvement of infrastructure will have a positive impact on the opinions of recipients, which will allow for the natural dissemination and promotion of the commune. Satisfied tourists and patients, thanks to the good infrastructure of Szczawnica ski lifts and ski slopes, will be happy to come back to their winter conquests.

Szczawnica-Zdrój is a commune with many tourist opportunities, it has a diverse accommodation base, many places for active recreation, additional advantages affecting its attractiveness are mountain landscapes, the location of the Pieniny National Park and nature reserves. Other attractions that can support the promotion of the project are natural objects such as: Góra: Palenica, Bryjarka, Durbaszka, Nature Reserve: Wawóz Homole, BiałaWoda, Pieniny National Park. In addition, it is worth mentioning the events that take place in the commune during the winter season: New Year's Eve under the Stars, Skiing Competition for the Small Mayor's Cup, Pearls of the Pieniny Mountains, Pieniny Sports Center Championship, Polish Amateur Championships in Alpine Skiing, Final of the Szczawnica volleyball league, Szczawnicki New Year's Concert, Cursed Soldiers Run, hotels, Mineral Water Pump Room, Taverns and Restaurants, Pieniny Museum in Szlachtowa.
