CHARACTERISTICS OF THE DESIRED PRODUCTS AND TOURIST SERVICES

 

The following tourist products have been implemented in the area of the Krynica-Zdrój Commune:

  • MTB bicycle routes,
  • flow cycle routes,
  • Observation Tower.

The following tourist products are desired by the Commune:

  • city swimming pool,
  • Aquapark,
  • Kiepura Museum,
  • playground for children in the city center.

In addition, the development of spa tourism means the need to modernize and expand the infrastructure, in particular in the field of:

  • setting new tourist and nature trails - all-year-round, with the possibility of practicing various forms of activity (running, skiing, bicycles, walking, horse riding, swimming);
  • expansion of sports and recreational infrastructure: sports fields, exercise rooms, open-air gym, as well as a more specialized offer, e.g. golf courses, tennis courts, climbing walls);
  • consistent improvement of the quality of green areas, especially in the nature of spa parks;
  • expansion of typical spa facilities, including, for example, health paths;
  • organizing public spaces that are the showpiece of the health resort;
  • strengthening and expanding new spaces for cultural and entertainment events;
  • revitalization of historic villas for hotel, recreational and gastronomic purposes;
  • further ordering, modernization and revalorization of historical spa infrastructure.

The commune plans to improve the tourist infrastructure in terms of:

  • run-up tower for tobogganers,
  • water park,
  • revitalization of the main board of the theater in Krynica,
  • the garden of the elements.

Accordingly, the main goals set by the Commune in the tourism sector are:

  • strengthening the tourism sector,
  • promotion of products and priority areas of tourism products,
  • development and modernization of space for the development of tourism and tourist infrastructure,
  • expansion of flow bicycle routes (Góra Parkowa),
  • delivering an information and promotional message about the tourist attractiveness of the Krynica-Zdrój commune.

In addition, the construction of a Conference Center in Krynica-Zdrój is planned in the commune. The investment will include the construction of the Conference Center on the basis of the existing facilities belonging to Uzdrowisko Krynica-Żegiestów SA, ie Stare Łazienki Mud, Stare Łazienki Mineralne, Stara Kotłownia, part of the current mineral and medicinal water bottling plant. Construction of a multi-storey car park on communal plots located in the immediate vicinity of the planned Conference Center. The Center will include plenary and panel rooms with facilities for organizing congress and exhibition events. The planned center is complemented by the existing facilities in the form of the Main Pump Room, which can accommodate an audience for about 1000 people seated, and the buildings of the Old and New Spa House. The scope of the planned tourist and tourist-related services includes the creation of a place where it will be possible to organize conference events and expand the accommodation network. An initial planning stage is currently underway. At this stage, there are no administrative decisions and detailed technical documentation yet.

Barriers limiting the implementation of the planned project include the lack of sufficient funds to finance the parking lot on communal plots from the Commune's budget, the lack of a technical design; Moreover, the facilities intended for the Center are the property of UKŻ SA and there is no binding party to the contract, e.g. for joint implementation, there is no appointed entity that will be the operator.
