The spring flows from the church in Żegiestów Wsi (formerly a Greek Catholic church). Legend has it that it gushed out during the ceremony of consecrating the church in 1928. According to the inhabitants of that time, Żegiestów water was supposed to help with eye diseases. The properties of water have never been confirmed by research.
