Orthodox church st. Jakub the Younger Apostle in Powroźnik - is the oldest Orthodox church in southern Poland, which in 2013 was inscribed on the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List. Established in 1600, the Greek Catholic parish was endowed in 1637 by Bishop J. Liczik. Due to the flood risk, it was moved in 1814 to its present location and partially rebuilt. During this period, a new chancel was built, while the old one was turned into a sacristy. In 1878, the main tower with a columnar structure was added. The church was renovated in 1965.
It is a wooden building with a carcass construction, three-section, one-nave. Above the nave there is a tent dome broken three times, in the presbytery a ceiling with a bevel, in the sacristy there is a barrel vault. External facade and roof covered with shingles. The whole is crowned with three spherical turrets with apparent lanterns. The interior of the church is extremely rich. The most valuable monuments of sacred art in the region of the former "Muszyna Key" have been preserved here.

It is worth seeing the figural polychrome from 1637, as well as the Baroque main altar with the icon of the "Mother of God and Child" from the 17th century, and the iconostasis that is the background to the altar. The other icons placed on the side altars, the Rococo pulpit from 1700, and the bell from 1615 are also of unique value. The church has been a Roman Catholic church since 1951. The parish was established in 1951 by Fr. bishop J. Stępa. In 1965, the church was renovated.
